Indian Youth Delegation Visits Gansu

    At the invitation of the All-China Youth Federation, an Indian youth delegation headed by Ms. Kiran Soni Gupta, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Affairs And Sports Government of India, came to Gansu province on July 4 for a four-day friendly visit. On the afternoon of that day, the China-India Youth Development Forum held in Lanzhou to discuss on history and culture, innovation and entrepreneurship, and ecological protection.

    Sun Wei,Vice Secretary of CPC Gansu Provicial Committee ,attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Sun warmly welcomed the Indian Youth Delegation,and briefly introduced the economic and social development in Gansu. He said that the friendship between the people of China and India had a long history. In recent years, with the direct care and personal promotion of the leaders of the two countries, the youth interaction between China and India had further deepened and the field of exchanges had further widened. Gansu had obvious regional characteristics, long history and splendid culture, unique natural resources and strong development momentum. At present, Gansu Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government were actively integrating into the "the Belt and Road Initiative" construction, promoting the formation of an all-round opening pattern and further releasing development vitality. He hoped that the visit of the Indian Youth Delegation would further promote young friends of China and India to learn from each other,and use their youth and vitality to promote better, faster and more stable development of Sino-Indian relations.

    The Indian Youth Delegation consists of 200 members of youth social organizations’ members, students, scholars, athletes, artists and government officials. During the visit in Gansu, the delegation would visit Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes and Lanzhou New District. It would also visit Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Lanzhou Jiaotong University and Northwest Normal University. It would also visit Gansu New Media Group, Shanzishi Community of Lanzhou, and Ark Rescue Team,to learn about the operation of youth social organizations and new media, and exchange views on further promoting youth exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.(Translated by Degang Zeng)
